Okay, first let's get the formalities out of the way.
MERRY CHRISTMAS and HO-HO-HO.
Now let's remember to be thankful we're not the other guy.
With all the horrible bad news I've had to endure pouring out of every speaker in the house and car and reading in paper and Internet I can't emphasize enough just how glad I am to be me.
So this season reach out to someone worse off. Put some loose change in the buckets, bring some canned food to the shelter, wish someone a Merry Christmas and MEAN IT.
Hug your wife, your husband, your children your friends. Hug a stranger (alright maybe not a total stranger, maybe just that person sitting next to you at the bar you've been blatting and drinking with, well then,.. just shake their hand and MEAN IT!)
You will feel better for it, if only for a moment. But that moment will always be there.
And for the love of Pete turn off the damn computer and enjoy this holiday with those you love or at least kind of enjoy hanging out with.
